MusicNet

Across various regions of England, MBR Promotions acts as the Music Industry Consultant (MIC) for the Government's New Deal for musicians programme.

In addition to the music business career advice we offer our New Deal (ND) musicians, we also run MusicNet, an initiative to help our ND musicians get networked into the local music industry and be kept informed of opportunities that could further their music careers. MusicNet has two distinct elements to it: MusicNet Live; and the MusicNet Resource.

As you might expect, MusicNet Live is a live music event which offers our ND musicians the opportunity to showcase to, and network with, the local music industry. Resin at the Green Festival 2000. To ensure all our ND musicians are aware of these two MusicNet elements, MusicNet News, Issue 1, New Year 2001we have fused them together to create MusicNet News, our very own ND for musicians newsletter.

First published in January 2001, each issue of MusicNet News includes a full review of the last MusicNet Live event, signposts music and business opportunities, highlights ND for musicians success stories, and offers a billboard where musicians can advertise for new band members, sell equipment or publicise gigs.

MBR Online now features extracts from each issue of MusicNet News to help promote our MusicNet Live performers and to unify the MusicNet Resource into a single, up to date, online reference. To view either, simply follow the relevant link.

If you would like to contribute to the next issue of MusicNet News, have any comments or you would like to make some suggestions, then please email or contact MBR by phone, fax or letter.
